Dear colleagues,
 
We look back at a successful first edition of Railways & Environment in Delft!

During this two-day conference we have brought together science and industry and have discussed technical research as well as made progress regarding the environment impact of railways on different levels. This in spite of the disruptions of the schedule on the second day and the rather severe travel problems for several of our participants, both due to the sudden and extreme weather conditions in the Netherlands. Please rest assured that any following edition will not be planned during the winter months.

With the help of the session chairmen, we have formulated a number of conclusions summarizing Railways and Environment 2010 >>>

We will work with a project team on a continuation to Railways and Environment for the coming years: the relevant themes in the railway sector that should be addressed as well as new ways to stimulate science and industry to operate at their interface. By continuing this platform, we aim to stimulate and ensure that railway research is cutting-edge and technology is ahead!
